Archive for February, 2013

So last time I posted I left you with this photo:

And I promised to give you my answer this time.  While I don’t regret anything in my life because I consider it all a learning experience there were some amazing days I’d love/hate to do all over again.  There aren’t really any parameters set here, but I’m going to say those aren’t an option.  What’s interesting is that I don’t really come up with anything.  Many of the things I would love to happen in my life would happen over more than 24 hours and last a lifetime. (like being rich enough to do what I wanted and give back to society).  So my idea comes down to having one day with no inhibition.  I’d almost say with no conscience just because that could inhibit oneself.  I would have some crazy ass day like in Crank.  There are a lot of things I’m curious about that most of us wouldn’t admit out loud that would be interesting to experience. I’ll continue to dream. =)

So I’ve been working on my website for school and I think it’s coming along quite nicely. I have the following pages:

The Key – about Lewis Carroll

Down the Rabbit Hole – about the original books and play

TweedleDee – Movies and TV of Alice in Wonderland

TweedleDum – Movies and TV inspired by Alice

Muchness – Alice in Wonderland Game

Curioser & Curioser – Clothes, jewelry, and tattoos of Alice

Eat Me, Drink Me – Cakes, cupcakes, cookies, drinks, and restaurants inspired by Alice

I also have art, Facebook pages, and other things I want to include.  If anyone has something they love about Alice that they would like me to share, let me know!  Funny thing happened while working on my pages.  I wanted to see if there were any cupcakes based on American McGee’s Alice so I did a Google search.  The first page that shows? My blog! Totally made my day. Don’t forget –

“Sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast” – Alice

I can’t name this post Valentine’s Day.  I’m not a big fan of it.  Not because I don’t have a boyfriend or any of that (cuz I have plenty of friends n family who would be my valentines), but because I just don’t really like it.  I don’t need one day out of the year where I say “I Love You.” I say it everyday.  Plus, I would really rather look at the anti-valentines day stuff. Or the kinky stuff!

Now this heart I can get behind.  Blood n handcuffs!  What better way to make me smile?

And of course, Billy Madison.  Who can forget the creepiest, most sexual harrassingest (yes, i know it’s not really a word!) teacher EVER! This is always a favorite of mine to watch.

Something I love.  I can’t get enough of this game.  I love everything about it.  If you know it then you know what I mean, and if you don’t .. check it out!!!

2 of my favorite kids on Earth.  I love them soo much! And miss them =(

Now I have to leave you with something to think about.  I will give you my answer next post, and I hope some of you will comment about what you’d do.

One of the reasons I have been unable to post recently is I am working on a project for my MultiMedia and Web Design Class.  We have to create a website of 5-8 pages by Spring Break, about a month away.  So I chose one of my semi-obsessions.  Alice.  It will be everything from Lewis Carrol’s bio to the clothes and cakes it has inspired.  I will try to keep things updated here.. maybe even give a sneak peak!

I haven’t had a chance to post in awhile with school starting back up.  Turns out even in college you can be treated like an elementary school child.  Apparently even if you are paying for your education and no one is actually teaching the class (it’s a non-credit math class done completely online) teachers can think they still have the right to take away your cell phone if you use it.  Ridiculous.

Now if you’re a “normal” person you won’t understand this.  But, chances are you’re not considering you’re reading my blog.  Insanity isn’t really a bad thing.  There are different levels, different conditions, and of course different people handle things differently.  While sometimes I really wish I were not bi-polar, it does have it’s upsides.  I mean yea while I’m manic I could do something absolutely dumb that could cause me harm just because it sounds like a great time.. but I haven’t yet.  And being manic is one of the best highs in the world.  And some would say that’s ridiculous.

Now, if someone said this to you it’s most likely in a sexual situation.  And if it wasn’t you’d look at them like “You’re ridiculous.”  However, as a former waitress I think this is genius.  And while some may not get it, and other’s may REALLY get it… those that do can’t help but laugh and think the same.

Ridiculous.  I mean really?  How is it possible to live in a country where we have people living on the street in freezing/hot/terrible conditions when we have empty houses because people couldn’t afford their mortgage because there are no jobs to be had right now???  I have no doubt that even without heat or electricity people who are on the street would gladly be in an empty house sleeping on the floor instead.  I mean this is really absolutely ridiculous!!!

I found this picture online and really want a sign that says this to hang in my room.  I think that it describes our world perfectly.  In fact, it was the whole inspiration to this post.  Yea, something perfect might look beautiful, but something imperfect IS beautiful.. and unique.  If you think about all the people in history that have made amazing contributions to society it isn’t hard to see that genius and madness walk a fine line together.  And while some may not agree (everyone I know will tho) being absolutely ridiculous is not only way better than absolutely boring… it’s also a hell of a lot more fun!
